Spring Cleaning Time!

While you're taking your home tour, start a list on a new page of supplies you need to gather. List everything from nontoxic cleaners and microfiber cloths to a new vacuum filter or A/C filter and replacement light bulbs for the front porch. Again, you may not be able to acquire all of these things now, but the list will come in handy as you work. Now that we've got a game plan, let's start by Reducing wherever possible. This is where the real work begins. Start those donation and recycling boxes NOW because it is a lot easier to clean when you don't have as much crap to move around. Be ruthless -- simplifying your stuff will make the biggest impact on how much lighter your home will feel when we're all done cleaning. Don't worry about "cleaning" on this part -- just work on Reducing. As you work through each room, keep your lists in mind, and aim to keep only items that move you toward where you want your home to be. This doesn't have to be a huge time drain either -- just try to spend at least 15-30 minutes each day Reducing.
