1/2" Serpentine Belt Tensioner Tool - Square StyleFeatures: This tool is designed to reach down through the engine compartment in areas that are not easily accessible with standard tools or "universal" belt tensioner tools. Many times engine area accessories and frame components (alternators, drive belts, fluid containers, shock towers and fender wells) inhibit the direct access without removing components or needing two technicians to release the belt tensioner. 1/2" square style for all vehicles using 1/2" square style tensioners. For use on 1987 and later mini vans with the Mitsubishi 3.0 liter V6 engine as well as 1984 and later Corvettes (not ZR1). Includes: * timing belt * water pump with gasket * timing belt tension adjuster * timing belt idler bearing * timing belt tensioner (roller with bracket) * accessory drive belt * front camshaft seals * front crankshaft seal. Featuring products by Bando, Contitech, Mitsuboshi, GMB, Koyo, NTN, NSK, NPW, Paraut, Aisin. The automatic tension adjuster is the unit with the pin you pull out. The timing belt tensioner is the roller/bearing with a bracket that has a pivot point. The idler is just a roller with bearing. So, the Transmission Bell housing bolt is actually a M12 x 1.50mm pitch x 40mm.
The motor mount is M10 x 1.50mm pitch x 40mm.
The I don’t know what it’s for in the transmission bolt is a M8 x 1.25mm pitch X 20mm.
I found out the sizes by buying all sizes at Lowes and checking each one.
The leak was the coolant intake line for the turbo. Â Since the rear motor mount was not bolted on, the turbo was sitting on the motor mount cutting through its own coolant line.
I’ve ordered the coolant line so the Volvo should be fixed by weeks end.
The New Yorker is another story. Â Was leaking coolant and making the serpentine belt squeal. Â Replaced 3 coolant lines and found out it was the water pump also. Â so replaced it too. Â Replaced the idler pulley and still have what sounds like a bearing failure in another pulley.
So the only things on the serpentine belt are:
the harmonic dampener (old)
the water pump (new)
the power steering pump (old)
the tensioner (old)
the idler pulley (new)
the ac compressor (old)
the alternator (new)
So the plan is to isolate the problem by removing the serpentine belt and checking each. Â Find and replace. Â The harmonic balancer is ~$50, the idler arm with pulley is ~50, just the pulley ~$20, the compressor (doubt it, but $$), the power steering pump (doubt it ?$).
