New (2011) Nissan Micra
The all-new 2011 Nissan Micra has just been revealed at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Built on Nissan’s all-new V-platform, the Micra is the Japanese automaker’s global supermini. Production will take place in several regions, including India, Thailand, Mexico and China. Size-wise, it is slightly longer and lower than the model it replaces, offering more interior space.
In Europe and likely around many parts of the world, the Micra will be offered with two engines types, a naturally aspirated 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol producing 80HP and 108Nm of torque, and a turbocharged version of the same engine with direct injection that pumps out 98HP and 142Nm of torque.
Sales are scheduled to start initially in Thailand and India in March, with European sales beginning in November. The new Micra will eventually be sold in 160 countries. More details can be found in Nissan’s press release.
