We got a replacement battery for the Escort (free, because the other one was supposed to still be working), but the low battery indicator stayed on when Dad started it. When Mom went to start the car to take it to Midas on Wednesday, the car didn't start. We tried jump-starting it ourselves, and then decided to call and have someone jump-start it for us. I got to drive it to Midas and the low battery light didn't turn on at all! We still asked the mechanics to take a look at the electrical system. I've had it die on me once while I'm driving. I'd rather not have it happen again. Speaking of him, at first, they thought there wasn't anything wrong with the alternator or starter relay. Then they started testing the individual circuits on the electrical system. The manager thought maybe the starter relay was the issue. When he replaced it, though, he figured out it was the alternator, which was only two years old. That means it was still under warranty, so we didn't have to pay for the replacement alternator. I took the bus to work today because Mom needed Dad's car while I was working. When she picked me up after I got to the transfer center, she asked if I wanted to go pick up H.O.J. Duh! :D
