Know what ELSE?! Much as I love my parents, my friends and family, I am not going nowhere no more, especially not Michigan, till blizzard season is over. I am home. My sister Queenie accompanied me to Ohio in the paternal vehicle, which she then drove home while I picked up my repaired car. The problem: a bad idle pulley, which caused the serpentine belt to come off, and then all the coolant boiled out of the radiator because, without a serpentine belt, you got no fan. So, great, my car runs. Which means I could arrive in Pittsburgh just in time for the blizzard of the decade. SIX HOURS driving in blizzard conditions. When I called the Sparrowhawk for an updated weather report, he assured me it would get better after Harrisburg. Yeah--then it got DARK!! Holy Mother of God. I don't have enough exclamation points in my punctuation warehouse (it looks kind of like the one in "Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark") to express the horrendous nature of this experience. I tell ya one thing--it did have the benefit of driving out of my mind the maelstrom of emotional strains to which I have been subjected in the last few days. Like, I couldn't think about my parents and cry because, FUCK, if I take a moment to blink away tears, I could go off the road, since I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING because the air is like, solid snow, and if it got any thicker, the entire state of Pennsylvania would drown from breathing it.
